Ways to add culture to your style

It is the month of December, the city is buzzing with events at every nook and cranny. Ebonylife premiered a new movie last Sunday and the style theme was opulently Nigerian.
It was a hall full of celebrities, dignitaries all looking glam in different cultural garments.

On that note, we will be giving a few tips on how to include culture into your wardrobe.

1) Play with your accessories: Designers in and out of Nigeria are adopting the use of our local fabrics to make beautiful accessories that could add some culture to our western styles. There are quite a number of accessories designers who use coral beads, Adire and asooke to make bags, jewelry, foot wear, turbans, scarves and the list goes on.....  Here are a few brands you can look at.



2) Go for brands that manipulate fabric. Some brands do no wrong manipulating fabrics by mixmatching or underlaying and many more other ways. A few of the many designers who do this are:

3) Be unconventional: Avoid doing the norm when selecting styles for for your cultural fabric.
